Wow Your Senses - ecoEATS

Kakayo is the full-time passion of owner and founder Colleen Wong-Sala. It's evolved from a catering business to its present-day retail location on Queen Street East – part Leslieville, part Beach.
When you walk into Kakayo, you step right into Colleen’s kitchen. Kakayo invites customers to be part of the chocolate making experience, hand dipping each delight for all to see. Their mouth-watering truffles are hand-crafted exclusively from premium, organic, and fair-trade ingredients. Preservative-free, their truffles are infused with a variety of fresh fruits, tea leaves and herbs. From Organic & Gluten Free to Organic-vegan / Dairy-free to Sugar Free/Diabetic Friendly there is a truffle line to suit every dietary need.
With flavours ranging from Chai Masala to Banana Split and Hot Tamale, the truffles are inspired by foods that Colleen enjoys, and more importantly, inspired by customer feedback. The fun-factor is also apparent in flavours such as the peanut butter-laced “Trailer Park” creation and the “Raspberry Nipple” delicacy.
Kakayo fills a niche for Toronto’s most discerning chocolate lovers.
Looking to bridge the gap between the boutique shops on Queen East with their overly-sweet treats and the tree-hugging products found at the health food shops, Kakayo brings the best of both worlds together in a fresh, modern concept. This summer they'll take that concept a step beyond by offering fresh hand-churned ice-cream with the same quality premium, organic, and fair-trade ingredients!
Honoring her commitment to sustainability, Colleen has given her customers incentive to bring back the reusable wooden giftboxes provided with purchase by making their next indulgence a tax free one - saving the planet one chocolate-box at a time.
Stop by and wow your senses at: 1584 Queen Street East or visit them on the web at: www.kakayo.com.
