Optimistically Subverting the Often Neglected... - ecoKIDS

ATAW, art project, Wychwood Craft Market, C1 Artspace, KID ICARUS, Kensington

These gems stem from The Orphans street art series - wherein artist AWTW actively promotes 'urban play' with his DIY mass-produced series of artwork which uses ubiquitous methods of flyposting as a means to proliferate throughout the urban landscape - The Orphans’ comfortably sit between an alternative and unique art statement and the more blatant accessibility of a consumable mass produced product. (digging deep at the intentions of mass production and their effect on the built environment.)

The Orphans series is "an exercise in infinite pattern making, massive DIY production, narratives in the modern city and just plain old crazy OCD fun, says the artist.

"Through the medium of street art, we optimistically subvert the often neglected, mediocre and complacent urban condition." (now we can dig on this.)

Check these plush statements out: www.at-aw.com/orphans.html

What could be cooler?....Making the notion accessible by plush-ifying the movement and artistic statement.

The medium is the message here- so love em up- squish em up... Unique one-of-a-kind upcycled, handprinted, handpainted, art toy/soft sculptures. Each Orphan is a unique original illustration in plush form.

These are ridiculously cute and suitable across the board: art snobs to babies to design geeks to die hard toy collectors.

Each piece is numbered and signed by the Artist & each a unique bundle of craftycrazyawesomeness.

Putting a price on art:

Meander down to the uber-hip part of town at the C1 Artspace ...Grab em up @ KID ICARUS in the heart of Kensington or pick 'em fresh at Wychwood Craft Market.
