10 In Honour of Earth Day - ecoCULTURE
A little out of the ordinary for us (who wants to be ordinary anyway?), in honour of our beloved mama earth we thought we'd spin some tips at y'all... ecocentric stylee.
For all of us looking for a way to do their part, change the world, and make that impact while taking that lighter step... Of course there's also the typical wealth of celebratory events happening in & around the city - If you're feelin' like pounding the pavement with a purpose: get in on the Earth Run at Downsview Park's annual Earth Day Celebration. Or, if you're feeling eco-social, join the other enviro-conscious minded peeps at CN tower for the latest edition of Green Drinks.
For those who want to take a more individual initiative, here are 10 simple stylish ideas, sans-preach!

- Take Note: Collect misprints or old print outs and distribute 'em to be used for eco note paper.
- Don't Be Lazy: Skip the elevator and take the stairs dude.
- Break Bread: Organize a lunch for the office tribe where everyone brings something organic/fair trade/local (including brewing up some fair trade organic coffee for the office that day).
- Trash Talk: Ask people to bring in any old cell phones, batteries, etc, to be sent for recycling.
- One Man's Junk: Swap! Bring in the stuff you don't use or want anymore and have fun trading amongst yourselves.

- Unleash Your Locavore: Sit down for a 100 mile dinner party (complimented by a bottle of local organic wine of course). Southbrook & Frogpond are yummy options- scope 'em here
- Low-impact Filmfest: Consciously celebrate by screening (any of a gazillion) earth movies in the backyard for the neighbourhood to watch (psst: save some of that organic vino for the backyard party).
- It Takes a Village - Pitch In!: Gather your tribe and clean up the neighbourhood/school yard/local park - after all, collective efforts make the biggest difference, and foster that 'all about the love' blue movement 'tude - and that's the stuff that's gonna change the world.
- Hug a tree - :) nuff said.
